1. The Maryland House of Delegates narrowly approved a bill to legalize same-sex marriage on Friday night.
According to the Washington Post, opponents believe this is an "affront to long-standing religious traditions."
Blech.
Can we please move into the 21st Century now?
Naturally, opponents believe Maryland citizens should have the final say and they hope to get it on the ballot for the November election.
2. The hate mongers at the Westboro Baptist Church have plans to picket Whitney Houston's funeral. These morons think they can sing, too. Witness their tasteless parody remake of her song, "I Will Always Love You" renamed "God Will Always Hate You."
3. One of Rick Santorum's biggest financial backers, Foster Friess, recently joked that back in his day, women used Bayer aspirin for contraception. They put it between their knees and it wasn't that costly.
Santorum called it a stupid joke.
Contraception is such a hilarious issue.
Santorum believes that contraception should be available, but states should have the right to ban it. Since Santorum is Catholic, contraception violates his beliefs as a Catholic.
Procreation is, of course, the only purpose of sex.
4. Kate Middleton bought Prince William a pair of Ralph Lauren snug-fitting boxers for Valentine's Day.
You clearly think as we do on a number of issues. It's always a pleasure to find out that someone whose writing we appreciate is a sane and rational human being who's got her (or his) priorities straight.
